    Job Description

Vertebrae is seeking a talented DevOps engineer to join our growing company. This position is responsible for maintaining and expanding our AWS infrastructure, development/deployment procedures and providing a voice to architecture and design decisions.

Vertebrae's two main stacks are a JavaScript stack (Node, React, RDS PostgreSQL) and a proprietary Windows based 3D pipeline.

Microservices using AWS tools such as AWS Lambdas (Node), API Gateway, SQS queues, Kinesis etc are used throughout the backend.

Virtualization, automated deployment and elastic scaling are a must at Vertebrae and a continued area of critical focus. This role is responsible for not only maintaining the current processes and procedures, but responsible for putting into place new systems that help us achieve scale and reliability while keeping an eye on cost and efficiencies. Currently DevOps is a joint responsibility amongst all full-stack team members but this role will begin the start of a new DevOps team working closely with the existing full-stack engineers.

While a strong data engineering skillset is not required, an understanding of common data components such as streams, data lakes, databases and BI tools is helpful in achieving success with this role.
