  • Responsibilities

    Role and Responsibilities

    Responsible for processing payroll and the maintenance of employee database regarding salary and pay, exempt and nonexempt. Manages multiple high-volume client accounts, transactions, and other payroll functions as needed.

    Payroll Processing

    • Reviews time and attendance input within the digital time-keeping system for completeness and accuracy.
    • Processes weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and interim payrolls.
    • Maintains and updates employees' addresses changes, direct deposit elections, tax withholdings, etc.
    • Responds to various payroll requests (garnishments, employment verifications, etc.).
    • Manages employee maintenance within payroll system throughout employee life cycle.
    • Supports new client and assists with employee implementation.
    • Complies with all federal, state, and local legal requirements; stays current on upcoming legislation.
    • Prepares reports and compiles earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wage summaries.
    • Responds to client and employee payroll questions and requests.
    • Updates payroll records; reviews and approves changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, job titles, and transfers.
    • Oversees processing payroll for certain accounts and performs as the primary POC for all payroll-related matters.

    Education/Experience:

    • 1-3 years of basic bookkeeping and payroll procedures/techniques.
    • 1-3 years of proven ability to calculate, post, and manage payroll figures and financial records.
    • 2+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
    • Highly Proficient with payroll software.

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

    • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Good understanding of common fiscal procedures.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

    • Typing, 10-key, and data entry skills.

    • Maintain client and employee confidentiality.

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus

    • PEO or payroll company related experience a plus.
