Staff Accountant

Summary:

The accountant will perform a variety of support tasks in one of the accounting departments. They seek a detail-oriented individual with basic financial business knowledge to conduct tasks using standard procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records, including detailed financial business transactions.
• Provide customer service to internal clients, suppliers and customers.
• Assist in the development and implementation of our records information management policies and best practices.
• Enter data or use technology tools to upload data into the computer system using defined computer programs.
• Compile data and prepare, review, and audit a variety of reports.
• Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Experience with email, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
• Ability and willingness to work overtime if needed by the business to connect with the Japan Accounting Team
• Previous work experience working with a Japanese company
• Experience with SAP
• Experience with Great Planes system
• Experience working with multiple time zones
• Bilingual in English and Japanese (written and oral)
• Basic knowledge of accounting basic execution.
• New grads from accounting
• 3 years’ experience in the accounting business (trading company would be preferred)
• Communicate with Japan team (preferable speaks Japanese)
