CONTROLLER JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, a privately held PE backed environmental company has been rapidly growing and partly due to COVID19. They closed out 2020 with an amazing year and is seeking a Dynamic and Driven Controller or Assistant Controller ready for next step to join their Leadership Team. The Controller will be responsible for the following but not limited to: 

• Oversea the Accounting/Finance Team of 9
• G/L, Treasury, Risk Management, Audit, Tax
• Month End Close, Financial Reporting and Consolidations of 7 entities
• Compliance & Internal Control
• Process improvements including policies and procedures, variance analysis, inventory and cost accounting, etc.
• Assist with Mergers & Acquisitions [M&A]
• Assist with FP&A, Budget & Forecasting
• Assist with future ERP Systems selection and implementations

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; MBA and/or CPA a plus
• 5-10 years of combined public accounting and private sector experience preferably in blue collar environment (manufacturing, distribution, 3PL, recycle/waste management, restaurant/retail etc.)
• Alternative would be direct industry experience with strong Job Cost / Inventory Accounting OR directly transitioning out of public accounting
• Sage 300 or mid tier ERP Systems knowledge a plus
• Advanced Excel Skills (pivot table, vlookup, sumifs, etc.)
• Must have month end closing and auditing experience.
• Must have strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and Internal Controls.
• Must have flawless communication and leadership skills
• Thick skinned and ability to work with all level of staff - shop floor to executives
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
