    Cost Accountant

    Our client is looking for a Cost Accountant to support activities including cost analysis, standard costing, inventory, fixed assets, general ledger accounting, receivables, and performance reporting. This position is located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

     

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the cost accounting function and for maintain cost accounting records. This individual will perform analysis of all the cost components including standard costs, labor, overhead and routing variances, and labor and overhead absorption. In addition, this position is responsible for standard cost rolls and revisions. Financial management may require assistance in other areas within the department such as special projects and cross-training for other accounting responsibilities.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assisting in performing internal auditing for the Financial and Business processes within the plant.
    • Performing essential cost accounting functions to ensure proper product costing and inventory valuation
    • Monitoring spending levels and providing appropriate feedback to production.
    • Providing general accounting support ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place, Corporate Policies are followed, account reconciliations are completed, and aged items are monitored until resolution.
    • Supporting the monthly closing process.
    • Supporting the completion of the physical inventory of metal and fixed assets per Corporate requirement.
    • Collaborate across functions to drive profitability through pricing and process.
    • Monitoring & tracking of spend related to capital projects, including alignment with budgets and identifying projects at completion to ensure timely capitalization.
    • Performing other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Finance or Accounting
    • Experience with Cost Accounting - standard cost methodology, inventory valuation and controls
    • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS

    • Strong analytical and evaluative skills
    • Developed written and oral communication skills
    • Sound judgment and appropriate level of risk for the situation at hand
    • Experience user of Microsoft Office products
    • Experience with Epicor, Oracle, and Hyperion a plus
