    ACCOUNTING MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

    Job Summary:

    You will report to the Unit Controller and be responsible for direct supervision, on a daily basis, of the accounting department functions and collaborate with the Accounting staff to ensure all company financial obligations are carried out in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and Internal Accounting Policies. With this, the Accounting Manager position is responsible for both the general ledger and cost accounting activities within a government contracting compliance environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Shorten the cycle time of the closing process to achieve company timelines.
    • Follow through on all financial regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions.
    • Utilize financial statement preparation skills and experience working with Auditors. Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
    • Report to the Unit Controller as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial decisions. Communicate, ethically and professionally, with co-workers, customers, suppliers, and others.
    • Lead using hands-on experience in the on-time closing of the books with utmost accuracy.
    • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company's value.
    • Utilize the company ERP systems to gather, prepare, review, and improve system data as it relates to the accounting deliverables.
    • Oversee the activities of trade receivables to ensure accurate and timely management of all customer accounts including billings, and cash receipts application.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. (A Master's is preferred)
    • Desired Certifications include CPA, CA, CGA, and/or CMA.
    • A minimum of Two (2) to Four (4) years of relevant progressively responsible experience as an Accounting Manager in a fast-paced manufacturing work environment is essential.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as accounting software. ERP experience is highly desired.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Thorough understanding of accounting procedures.
    • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage confidential information.
