    Senior Manager, Real Estate Fund Accounting

    Our client is a large reputable Financial Services firm with over $100B AUM located in Downtown Los Angeles |DTLA]. They foster a healthy work-life balance with great internal progression and excellent benefits. They are seeking an Experience and Dynamic Senior Manager, who will be joining their team.

    Summary:

    The Senior Manager in Fund Accounting will be part of a highly visible and fast-growing Real Estate Debt team who is responsible for reviewing, managing, analyzing, and maintaining the books and records for various Real Estate Debt-related funds/products. In addition, they will be required to ensure accurate and timely reporting to clients, fiduciaries, counterparties, and regulatory bodies while providing oversight for offshore teams.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Ensure funds are being accounted for pursuant to the governing fund documents, advisory agreements, and other legal documents
    • Review, reconcile and participate in the operational set-up of complex transactions while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
    • Help manage available liquidity by determining and preparing (capital vs. income) distributions and drawdowns from a combination of debt and equity vehicles
    • Coordinate as well as manage the funds’ independent auditors, custodians, prime brokers, internal/external stakeholders, offshore teams, and fund administrators in reviewing, analyzing, providing commentary, and producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports that require the calculation of complex allocations, waterfalls, fees, and performance metrics
    • Participate in various firm-wide initiatives to drive efficiency improvements by engaging with various cross-functional teams.

    Qualifications include:

    • Bachelor’s degree required. CPA is a plus but not required.
    • Minimum 7 years experience within either public and private accounting with at least 2 years experience in Real Estate the investment management industry required
    • Strong knowledge of Real Estate funds/investments, as an asset class, including product-related operational and performance familiarity preferred
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively both individually and as a team; and
    • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
