    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform tasks associated with of all Human Resources Disciplines, including but not limited to: Employee Relations, Recruitment, Benefits Administration, Leave of Absence Administration, Compensation Planning, and Worker’s Compensation.
    • Stay abreast any state and federal law updates. Implement action as needed. Make recommendations to upper management as applicable.
    • Administer training programs by position. Follow up to ensure completion and collect necessary checklists for employee training files, enter training in HRIS (Human Resources Information System, i.e. Paychex). Run reports to see if anyone needs re-training on any compliance related training, e.g. Manager Anti-Sexual Harassment training.
    • Order uniforms, employee badges and business cards for employees
    • Conduct verification of employment upon request
    • Process salary changes, job title changes, transfers, bonuses, etc.
    • Manage full employment cycle from Orientation to Separation.
    • Assist with recruitment process – schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers, coordinate and administer testing and assessments. Pre-screen resumes for hiring managers, if hiring manager requests it. Post on job boards as requested by managers. Conduct background screenings, when applicable and make recommendations to hiring managers.
    • Administer Benefits for employees (medical, dental, life, vision, 401k, and FSA plans). Administer COBRA for terminated employees. Perform necessary tasks associated with ACA compliance.
    • Coordinate payroll changes, bonuses, special pay and final pay for employees with payroll team.
    • Administer and manage full cycle of Leaves of Absences and Worker’s Compensation Claims. Ensure Leaves of Absences are administered in accordance with FMLA, PDL, CFRA and PFL. Engage in interactive process, as applicable.
    • Advise on performance management of all staff, e.g. annual reviews, disciplinary action. Ensure disciplinary action is in compliance with state and federal labor laws and free of discrimination and any disciplinary action administered is fair and consistent with the organization’s past practice.
    • Responsible for updating and revising employee handbook and policies to comply with state and federal labor law updates.
    • Administer IIP and Risk Management as it relates to OSHA compliance, development/implementation of IIPP and managing/processing work-related injuries and illnesses
    • Perform HRIS related activity including payroll change, system access, new hire set up, and troubleshooting, as well as data management/integrity and audits. Make recommendations/modifications to improve/increase HRIS system functionality and utilization.
    • Audit and update system positions, jobs, business units, etc. to ensure accuracy, consistency and data integrity within the HRIS and alignment with the general ledger.
    • Attend/respond to unemployment and EEOC hearings and drafts responses to allegations as needed or required.
    • Conduct Exit Interviews for voluntarily separating employees and facilitate separation
    • Conduct employee relations investigations. Respond with urgency to employee concerns and issues.
    • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
    • Calendar anniversary bonuses
    • Maintain company organization charts and the employee director
    • Maintain all employee personnel files
    • File EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations/Department of Labor

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Psychology or related discipline
    • 3-4 years’ experience in HR
    • Expertise in HR policies and procedures
    • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
    • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
    • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
    • Familiarity with MS Office suite, HRIS
    • Excellent communication skills
