Senior Accountant
Our client is an innovative CPG | Green, High-Tech Personal Transportation manufacturing company. They are global and sell products in more than 80 countries and regions. The company is in rapid growth mode and looking to add a Senior Accountant.
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $90K
Location: Alhambra, CA.
Education: BS in accounting/finance or related field, master/MBA preferred
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for standard costing methodology in a consumer product environment. This includes reviewing and understanding variances, operating cost, and margins.
- Perform month-end/quarter-end/year-end close. Includes journal entry reconciliations of various inventory and variance accounts, such as Excess and Obsolete inventory reserve, purchase price variance, and other expense accruals.
- Prepare monthly journal entries by maintaining records and files
- Manage and monitor monthly closing and reconciling GL accounts across department
- Assist in preparation and analysis of financial statements including internal and external purposes
- Conduct analysis of specific accounts and prepare recommendations for action as appropriate
- Support new ERP system implementation
- Complete special projects and analysis as required
- Assists Controller with development of budgets and forecasts as requested
- Ability to lead process improvements across department
- Support cost analysis, data requests from non-accounting functions.
Experience requirements:
- 5+ years’ proven experience in corporate accounting, 2+ years at senior level preferred
- 3+ years in consumer products, retail/ecommerce preferred
- 3+ years ERP systems, SAP preferred
- General ledger, month-end closing and financial statements experience is a must
- Cost accounting experience is a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
- 5+ years’ experience in corporate accounting
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP.
- Good Knowledge and practice in ERP system and accounting software, SAP experience preferred
- Excellent communication & team skills, Attention to details, Self-motivated
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office
