Senior Accountant

Job Description

Our client is a leader in providing creative solutions with customer service as a priority to meet the transportation and logistics needs of its customers with  locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Louisiana. They are are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team. The ideal candidate will be a smart, curious, problem solver, with a strong knowledge of GAAP, and who really wants to join a team where they can make a difference as they help with setting up new process and procedures and help with implementing new enterprise systems.

This person will take full responsibility for Accounts Payable, and will also assist with daily general ledger accounting, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and the month-end close process, along with other ad hoc financial reporting and special projects, as needed.

Reporting to: Controller

Location: Mira Loma/Jurupa Valley, California

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversees all Accounts Payable
• Prepares general journal entries, as required
• Reconciles general ledger accounts monthly
• Reconciles bank accounts
• Assists with month-end close process
• Assists with preparation of monthly financial reports
• Assists with maintenance of internal controls and safeguarding assets
• Assists with financial statement audit
• Assists with preparation of property tax returns
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis, as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.):

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
• MA in Accounting or Tax, a plus.
• CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
• Public Accounting experience preferred
• 2+ years of experience required.
• 1+ year of supervisory experience a plus
