    Fund Accounting Manager

    Our client is a large reputable Financial Services firm with over $100B AUM located in Downtown Los Angeles. They foster a healthy work life balance with great internal progression and excellent benefits. They are seeking a Dynamic Fund Accounting Manager within Corporate Fund Accounting Team. 

    Responsibilities

    The Accounting Manager - Closed-End Fund will be responsible for maintaining the books and records for various pooled investment funds and accounts, as well as reporting to investors and the portfolio management group.

    Additional responsibilities will include:

    • Accounting for and reconciliation of cash and investments;

    • Recording and reconciling of purchase and sale transactions;

    • Accounting for complex corporate actions;

    • Estimating and posting monthly closing accruals;

    • Calculating management and incentive fees based on the terms of governing documents;

    • Determining and preparing distributions and draw-downs;

    • Monitoring debt covenant compliance and preparing required reporting to lenders;

    • Liaising with other corporate departments to facilitate compliance with various regulatory requirements;

    • Analyzing and calculating of performance metrics for funds / accounts;

    • Coordinating with funds’ independent auditors, custodians, prime brokers, lenders and other fund vendors;

    • Performing other tasks as required.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting. CPA is a plus.

    • 5+ years accounting experience within the financial services or Big 4 or Tier 2 public accounting industries, with a mix of public and private preferred;

    • Exposure to ’40 Act funds, SEC reporting and Sarbanes Oxley desired;

    • Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis;

    • Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules;

    • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems; and

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
