    Director of Accounting

    Our clilent is a diversified nutraceutical and pharmaceutical company headquartered in City of Industry, California. It is a contract manufacturer and private labeler of thousands of branded, high quality nutritional supplements including softgels, tablets, capsules, powders, teas, and drugs.

    Summary:

    The Director of Accounting duties will be to ensure timely & accurate accounting data entry in General Ledger, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable modules, contacts with vendors, customers & employees, reconciliation of accounts, generate reports, collection, ensure accurate documents retention to maintain an accurate set of books along GAAP.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure accounting records accuracy and accurate records retention.
    • Oversee, guide and work with Accounting Associates to achieve departmental goals.
    • Analyze, research, track, and resolve accounting problems.
    • Verify that vendors are paid timely and payments are timely collected from customers.
    • Promptly resolve any payment and collection issues by direct intervention.
    • Promptly report any emerging issues to upper management.
    • Records business transactions and key daily worksheets to the general ledger system.
    • Prepares reports when needed and analyze reports to maintain and improve data accuracy.
    • Continuously promotes task and data efficiencies for the department.
    • Conducts pre month end & pre year-end routines.
    • Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
    • Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
    • Performs new/other job duties, assignments, and/or special projects, as directed by management.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. CPA Preferred
    • 6+ years of corporate accounting experience with some supervision highly preferred
    • Full month end close experience through financial statements
    • Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred (Some cost/inventory accounting a plus)
    • Strong Excel knowledge
