    ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

    Scope of Responsibilities

    • Manage a team of 4-6 individuals
    • Oversee the month end close ensuring that all facility reviews are completed, balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed and P&L reviews are completed timely and accurately
    • Lead efforts in 842 lease accounting and ensure proper processes are in place to capture all leases. Review to ensure all leases are appropriately input into ProLease and that disclosures for financial reporting are complete and accurate. Partner with legal and acquisition teams to be in the know on any upcoming lease renewals, acquisitions or sales
    • Work cross-functionally with multiple internal and external teams to develop or enhance processes where needed
    • Partner with operations to be the ‘go-to’ for accounting support. Work through complex transactions, unique arrangements and explain accounting concepts as needed
    • Oversee the sales & use tax process and ensure best practices are implemented
    • Manage and review the Company’s incentive program and ensure completeness and accuracy of calculation and reconciliation
    • Ensure that each transaction is recorded in compliance with GAAP where needed
    • Other responsibilities and ad hoc projects as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA required preferably from Big 4 or Large National CPA firm experience (Audit Managers seeking transition to private sector are welcomed to apply)
    • 7+ years of experience with a combination of public/private mix ideal
    • Experience with non-routine transactions
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in researching and documenting accounting guidance and the accounting treatment of issues
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to identify problems and provide solutions
    • Ability to quickly learn and understand systems; general knowledge of database structures a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration and influencing skills
    • Able to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines.
