Plant Controller
Our client is a privately held food manufactured backed by PE firm. An entrepreneurial environment with great growth potential and process improvement opportunities. They are seeking an experienced Plant Controller with a strong Cost Accounting background that's inquisitive and driven by results, not afraid to get their hands dirty.
Summary of Position:
The successful candidate will oversee all financial activity within the P&L, Financial Statement, Cost Accounting and Inventory areas. This highly visible position is a great fit for an experienced individual with a proven track record of responsibility and results.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the entire P&L and Financial aspect of the organization from AP, AR, Cost Accounting, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Cash Flow, EBITA, etc.
- Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the process costs for high volume of finished good SKUs (includes Bill of Materials BOM and Labor Routings) across multiple production lines/shifts.
- Meets monthly closing deadlines consistently with accuracy.
- Prepares the annual budget and tracks actual results against budget, providing variance analysis.
- Provides reporting and analysis of financial information to senior management and board of directors.
- Oversees at risk inventory review process, improve scraps/wastes and provide meaningful analysis of financial reports
- Recruits, develops and motivates a lean team.
- Ensures the business unit is fully US GAAP compliant.
- Builds internal controls to achieve SOX compliance
- Maintains continuous improvement mentality within the department to enhance systems, procedures, and reporting for Finance/EBITA, Operations, Warehouse, Inventory Control, and R&D.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- 7+years of manufacturing/cost accounting experience, with at least two years preferred in a costing manager or plant controller role.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, charts, and graphs)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook PowerPoint, Word
- Excellent critical thinking, communications, and decision making skills.
- Thorough knowledge of cost accounting.
- Knowledge of ad hoc report writing systems (such as BatchMaters, SAP and/or other ERP systems softwares)
- Information Systems experience with general operation applications and accounting interfaces within an ERP environment.
