Staff / General Accountant 

Company is in search of a Staff/General Accountant. The position will report to the Plant Controller. The General Accountant position will be responsible for tasks ranging from journal entries to reconciliations, bridging, etc.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Month end location closing activities including the review of financial statements and account reconciliations with follow up and corrective action as needed
• Assist in the deployment of business unit initiatives
• Follow standards work to ensure location, business unit and Corporate deadlines are met
• Maintain and foster positive relations and communications within the accounting department and among the Norwalk Office departments
• Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as finished goods, purchases, inventory and labor
• Point of contact for Company AP related activities
• Prepare reports (internal and external)
• Assist in ASAT and audit functions
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Controller and management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited institution
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Cost and accounting financial analysis to include forecasting, variance analysis, bridges, planning, financial consolidation, and month/year end close.
• Financial accounting experience in a manufacturing industry
• Experience with SAP and Hyperion
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
