    Director of Human Resources

    Our client is a private held growing Global Consumer Products Manufacturer/Distributor located in the San Gabriel Valley. They are looking to add a dynamic and hands-on Director of HR to lead their tenured Human Resources team.

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Chief Administration Office | CAO, the Director of Human Resources will oversee all functions of HR for North America including US, Mexico and Canada. The ideal candidate possesses expert level HR Generalist knowledge and is well equipped to direct and guide the HR team in areas of talent acquisition & recruitment, payroll, employee relations, safety & labor compliance, worker's comp, compensation & benefits administration and performance reviews. You will provide both strategic and tactile support and guidance to the the North American business ensuring that our teams are fully aware and trained on their HR disciplines, legal obligations and responsibilities. This role mostly supports the US entity consisting of both Corporate Offices and Distribution Center. You will also support and service Canada Office and Mexico Manufacturing facility on all HR related matters. 

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    • Direct, guide and manage the HR team consisting of HR functions related to talent acquisition/recruitment, payroll & HRIS administration, benefits administration, HR compliance, workers’ compensation and general employee relations
    • Partner closely with the Executive and Sr. Leadership Team to optimize workforce management and HR planning geared towards business decisions that focus on recruitment of top talent, and retention/development of existing talent
    • Partner closely with CAO and Global President to manage and process annual bonus program
    • Partner with our brokers on managing our benefits programs to include health, retirement (401K) and EPLI insurance. Implement best in class practices to fulfill cost effective measures all while ensuring competitiveness with coverage and service
    • Administer our 401K program and manage internal and external annual audits, reporting and compliance requirements
    • Present initiatives to the executive team that promote Company and Brand as employer of choice ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives, corporate mission and values. Plan and meticulously execute those initiatives
    • Work with the executive team to establish appropriate HR policies, procedures, best practices and HR programs that foster a healthy and productive work environment to boost employee engagement and productivity
    • Provide expert level advice and direction to managers on all personnel and employee related matters compliant with Federal and State labor laws
    • Guide and coach management on organizational structure, staffing needs, career development opportunities, succession planning and performance metrics plans
    • Facilitate the recruitment of top talent by overseeing our recruitment practices, partnering with our hiring managers on identifying the most qualified candidates and ensuring that our recruitment practices are best in class
    • Manage and coach management on our full cycle performance review plan consisting of three cycles per year: Goal Setting, Mid-Year Reviews, and Year-End Reviews
    • Communicate to employees corporate wide changes/updates to ensure all employees are knowledgeable
    • Conduct company wide town halls by presenting HR related updates to all employees and addressing their questions and concerns
    • Oversee payroll activities and serve as backup to our payroll manager on payroll processing
    • Proactively manage all employee relations by implementing employee training and best in-class HR practices that mitigate risks associated to employment practices
    • Facilitate and manage corporate events including employee events/celebrations/community/charity and our Annual Budget Meetings

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business related field; Masters degree and/or SPHR, PHR a plus
    • 8+ years of experience at Director or Sr. Leadership level role overseeing/managing general HR functions
    • Possess expert knowledge of all CA/State labor laws
    • Experience managing HR in an environment with corporate offices, fulfillment/distribution center, 3PL and/or Manufacturing, Consumer Product Goods [CPG] industry highly preferred
    • Experience working with C-suite leadership and managing executive communications
    • Excellent communicator with ability to provide expert level advice and coaching to the management and executive level teams
    • Excellent presenter and ability to convey message through data and analytics
    • Must have solid experience managing and a talent management system – HRIS experience required (Cornerstone, Brassring, ADP, etc.)
    • Ability to motivate & mentor a team, set the vision, drive the agenda, empower the team and review work product to deliver a high-volume of high-quality work that exceeds expectations
    • Strong ability to collaborate with others for success in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with aggressive growth goals
    • Energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver – gets things moving and keeps them on track
    • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple ongoing activities
    • Bilingual Spanish or Chinese Mandarin a plus
