Strategic Sourcing & Purchasing Specialist

Our client is a private held growing Global Beauty/Cosmetics Consumer Products [CPG] eCommerce/Retail and Manufacturer/Distributor located in the San Gabriel Valley. They are looking to add a strategic and entrepreneurial Sourcing & Purchasing Specialist to their Supply Chain & Procurement team.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Purchasing & Manufacturing, the Sourcing & Purchasing Specialist will support multiple brands for new product development. The ideal candidate possesses deep understanding of the cosmetic business, cosmetic packaging and global OEM suppliers especially in China.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Liaison between Brand Product Development team and Production to streamline communication and ensure production understand marketing’s expectation on new product
- Liaison between Brand Product Development team and Suppliers (both domestic and international) to streamline communication and manage all stages of product development process
- Daily communication with both domestic and international suppliers on product development status and sourcing
- Negotiation with both domestic and international suppliers on product cost and trade terms
- Manage supplier relationship to ensure on-time delivery and product quality
- Develop new suppliers to enhance the overall sourcing network
- Daily administrative task including placing purchase order, communication with supplier to ensure on time shipment
- Up to 20% travel (post COVID-19)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing desired
- 3+ years of experience in CPG, Cosmetic, Beauty (SkinCare) product development/sourcing globally
- Basic knowledge on primary packaging is preferred
- Bilingual Chinese Mandarin required
- Strong negotiation skills
- Able to work in fast-paced environment with multiple brands
- Self-motivated, results oriented, creative thinker
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and organizational skills
- Analytical in approach to identifying opportunities
