Senior Accountant/Accountant III

Type: Temporary position to fill in for employee on leave

Overview:

The need is for general technical accounting skill set to review the AP and AR staff accountants’ workload and primary focus on preparing accruals, account reconciliations and journal entries during the 4 day month-end fiscal close.

Requirements and Responsibilities

Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management, and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors in Business, Accounting or similar field.
• 4-6 years of work experience in similar accounting role in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in standard cost accounting is desired.

Systems:

• Aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) ERP system is desired.
