Corporate Assistant Controller [Director of Accounting equivalent]
Our client is a large PE backed CPG manufacturing company located in the San Gabriel Valley. They are industry leaders and continue to grow organically and by acquisition with multi-sites across the United States. They are looking for a driven and dynamic Corporate Assistant Controller to join their strong Accounting Team. He/She will be responsible for corporate accounting and AP, maintain financial records and timely financial and management reportings.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue distribution, fixed assets, depreciation, leases and operating expenses
- Provides financial and analytical support through Central Accounting to the Management Team
- Supervises and participates in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Assures that all reporting, both internal and external is done within prescribed timelines
- Provides support to the Corporate Finance team with the annual budgeting & forecasting process.
- Performs financial and non-financial analysis in order to support policy and decision making activities within the company.
- Assists in the annual financial audit performed by the company’s external auditors
- Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
- Directs period end consolidations for the various operating companies
- Assists in the development of a planned integration for new acquisitions
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated.

- Special projects and other duties as assigned by senior leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these positions in a manner that creates harmony within the workforce, and promoting an attitude that will ensure successful results
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications/Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in accounting, finance or business related.
- CPA and M&A experience is highly preferred
- 15+ years of overall experience with 5+ managing an accounting staff.
- 3+ years of consolidation experience is required
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal control, partnering with external auditors
- Experience leading monthly and annual preparation of financial statements
- Demonstrated success in engaging with external auditors and completing a clean audit
- Proficient in the use of Excel and various large Tier 1 ERP systems
- Flexible and adaptable to travel and have the ability to work flexible hours
- CPG/Manufacturing Industry experience is required
