    HR Director Position Overview

    Drive the organization's employee experience through the entire lifecycle including sourcing talent, organizational development, coaching and training, compensation, and employee relations.
    The position requires both strategic vision and working leadership as you frame people and culture initiatives as a member of the managing committee, champion the company's values and culture, influence senior leaders with data driven insights, and develop strong relationships with an international employee base.
    You will lead a team of 2-4 employees and leverage partnerships to manage global HR Services including Talent Acquisition, Benefits and Compensation, HR Data & Analytics, Employee Relations, Training & Development, International HR (VISAs and immigration), and Payroll Services. Key vendor relationships include payroll, international HR services, benefits and insurance, search consultants, investments professionals (401K Plan), and Renewables Forward.


    Essential Functions

    • Create Strategy and Enhance Culture– Ensure the culture and work environment is open, empowering, and equitable. Provide guidance, direction, and management of people and organizational matters. Partner with International to design initiatives that live up to company's core values, mission, and objectives. Be a thought partner to senior leaders on employee development; this will include sourcing, building, and executing training. Lead employee relations, policy, and performance matters. Lead efforts for organizational design and change management.
    • Execute and Improve on Talent Acquisition–Manage search strategy to optimize quality and diversity. Use data and metrics to pursue continuous improvement in the hiring process. Evaluate and improve job postings, interview protocols, and other placement processes. Create and implement effective social media recruiting/sourcing strategies.
    • Build Compensation and Benefits – Define, communicate, and educate on pay philosophy and practice to ensure programs attract and retain talent. Oversee the global benefits program including health, welfare, and retirement programs. Study and interpret data on pay equity and facilitate annual reporting requirements. Lead efforts in compensation design for short term add long term incentive plans as well as health & welfare programs. Lead annual review processes including talent planning, succession , performance, short term incentives , and benefits administration/compliance.
    • Ensure Compliance with Employment Law – Provide guidance to ensure compliance of applicable HR laws, policies, and practices. Design, audit, and review company policies as needed.
    • Lead Employee Communications - Craft and deliver employee communications on people matters. Maintain oversight of the Employee Portal. Seek out and analyze employee feedback through surveys and informal channels
    • Manage HR Team and Department – Provide performance expectations, coaching, and development opportunities for employees. Establish and monitor departmental budget. Work with critical vendors including periodic review and recommendations for improvement.
    • Grow Your Portfolio - Serve on the investments committee, partner with the team managing employee experience in a hybrid work environment, and connect with Renewables Forward to further diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. You will develop business acumen, enhance project management skills, and expand your network to build professional resilience, influence, and abilities.


    Job Requirements

    • 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 in Manager/Director level roles with direct reports (people management experience).
    • Experience leading core human resources processes, specifically employment, benefits, recruitment, performance management, compensation, and knowledge of employment law.
    • Experience working with executive management.
    • Experience leading a geographically dispersed client group nationally and/or internationally
    • Experience with vendor management and a partnership model.
    • Experience in payroll or overseeing payroll (direct or indirect)
    • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree

    Preferences

    • Master’s degree or MBA
    • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP or CP

    Work Environment

    • Currently working remotely, the company plans a voluntary return to the office in Summer 2021 with full reopening in September or October 2021. It is expected this position will initially be classified as “hybrid” – typically working from the office 3 to 4 days a week and working remotely other times. As a senior leader, judgement will be required to determine the most appropriate travel and work location schedule.
