Job Description

Vertical Relevance is looking for an AWS SecOps Cloud Engineer, DevOps, DataOps, AWS Big Data,  to join our team in our New York or New Jersey office. This person is responsible for the end-to-end planning, building, and deploying of our software systems. He/she will be able to drive the programming of well-constructed, testable code.

The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background, a solid understanding of applicable analytics, and a natural curiosity for producing effective solutions. This person is patient, has excellent time-management skills, and practices of effective communication style.

Responsibilities: 

• DESIGN AND DEVELOP – Foster and engineer software solutions from conception to deployment. Evaluate customer requirements and determine existing product reach, potential restrictions, and future development feasibility. Work independently while testing all software in a fluid environment, facilitating verification and quality assurance throughout.
• IDENTITY AND ACCESS MANAGEMENT EPIC – policies for determining “least privilege” authorizations, playbooks, and sample code for managing assignment and revocation of IAM roles, and service control policy design per account classification
• DETECTION (LOGGING AND MONITORING) EPIC – scripts for log aggregation, alarming for key risk indicators.
• INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY EPIC – AMAZON MACHINE IMAGE (AMI) hardening, instance lifecycle/patch management, blue/green deployment strategies, and edge protection
• DATA PROTECTION EPIC – self-service encryption key distribution, data loss prevention controls, and secrets management.
• INCIDENT RESPONSE EPIC – playbooks for event responses, incident response simulations, incident response/forensics cleanroom account design, and trigger-based automated response controls.
• COORDINATE AND SUPPORT – Maintain direct communication with the customer to understand needs throughout the software development lifecycle. Work with the engineering team to execute timely and cost-effective solutions. Provide on-going support and maintenance to the customer as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred
• 4 + years of experience is required
• Knowledge of all following engineering tools and applications and programming languages.
• 4+ years’ experience with AWS Services: AWS Configuration, Lambda, Cloudtrail, Cloudwatch, Guardduty, Security hub, languages, cloud formation, and Python.
• App Dev- Python Java, DynamoDB PostgreSQL, & DocumentDB, 
• Knowledge of BDD preferable but, not essential. AWS knowledge: ECS CloudFormation, Lambda, Kinesis, API Gateway.
