    Founded in 1956, Armistead Avenue Veterinary Hospital is a busy small animal practice that takes pride in helping its community. Located in Hampton, Virginia, this AAHA-accredited practice has a strong reputation in the area and works to accommodate all clients. With an efficient, communicative, highly skilled staff, the practice does everything it can to make the client and patient experience pleasant and stress-free. The team provides primary and urgent care treatment, as well as soft tissue surgery and dentistry. A visiting board certified surgeon and skilled ultrasonographer are utilized weekly to augment the diagnostic and treatment strategies provided by our five dedicated veterinarians.

    Culturally, Armistead Avenue Veterinary Hospital is a great environment for new and experienced veterinarians alike. The team is extremely collaborative and encourages one another to improve their skills and build knowledge. Due to the supportive environment, a majority of doctors and support staff have been with the practice for multiple years. In fact, more than 10 employees have been with the practice for longer than a decade. Those attributes, combined with the spacious facility in a beautiful area, five supportive doctors, and four collaborative LVTs, make Armistead a fantastic place for veterinarians and support staff to grow their careers. 

    Armistead Avenue Veterinary Hospital now services clients through a hybrid model approach with clients being able to schedule appointment's and walk ins.

    What we are looking for:

    • Full or part-time Veterinarian with Medical Director role now available
    • Experienced Veterinarians or new graduates seeking mentorship are welcome and encouraged to apply
    • Looking for a DVM open to working a schedule that includes Thursdays, Fridays and rotating Saturdays (half day). Can be flexible with creating a schedule that works best for the team member.

    What we offer:

    • Base salary for qualified, well-rounded veterinarian: $125,000-200,000
    • Up to $25,000 in relocation and commitment bonus
    • Additional bonus plan based on hospital achieving growth and recruitment targets
    • Monthly bonus program with no negative accrual

    Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an AVMA accredited university upon hire
    • Current DEA License or obtained upon hire
    • Active Veterinary State License upon hire
