    This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, fast paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, preparation, and service. You will play a direct role in helping veterans secure the military based benefits they have earned. The work requires discipline, strong documentation skills, and the ability to guide veterans through sensitive and sometimes complex conversations.

    About the Role

    The Veteran Claims Development Specialist is responsible for two primary functions. 60% of the role focuses on document processing and case support. 40% focuses on development calls and preparing veterans for medical exams.

    Success in this position requires a high level of accuracy, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple active cases while maintaining real time updates in a CRM system.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Document Processing and Case Support
    • Complete, review, and submit VA forms including 526EZ, stressor forms, and dependent forms
    • Review and organize service medical records, DD214s, and supporting documentation
    • Develop and validate condition lists based on medical records and case strategy
    • Prepare summaries and notes that support case development
    • Maintain real time updates in the CRM including case notes, tasks, and status changes
    • Monitor case timelines and follow up on outstanding documentation
    • Ensure all documentation meets zero error standards before internal review
    • Development Calls and Exam Preparation
    • Conduct structured development calls using standardized scripts
    • Prepare veterans for VA and private C and P exams
    • Educate veterans on how to communicate symptoms, limitations, and service-connected conditions
    • Complete all development calls at least 48 hours before exam dates
    • Document call outcomes and coaching notes immediately in the CRM
    • Identify and escalate discrepancies or concerns to the Case Manager

    Communication and Service

    • Serve as a consistent point of contact for veterans throughout the preparation process
    • Communicate clearly and professionally with veterans and internal team members
    • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism when working with veterans navigating physical or mental health challenges
    • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times

    Performance Expectations

    • Maintain documentation accuracy above ninety five percent
    • Complete all development calls at least 48 hours before exams
    • Update the CRM within fifteen minutes of any interaction
    • Maintain a rework rate below 2%
    • Maintain high veteran satisfaction scores

    Qualifications Required

    • Experience in VA claims processing, medical documentation review, or case management support
    • Strong understanding of VA processes, DBQs, and exam preparation
    • Ability to manage 15-25 active cases in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency with CRM systems including Zoho or similar platforms
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead structured calls
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional judgment

    Preferred

    • Military experience or experience working with veterans
    • Experience in healthcare documentation or legal case support

    Compensation and Growth
