    JUNIOR CONTRACT SPECIALIST

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    VMSI is currently seeking a Junior Contract Specialist for a USDA Forest Service contract to offer intermediate support and assistance in all areas of Federal Acquisition. This position is 100% remote.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Deliver comprehensive support and assistance in various aspects of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliant Federal procurement that demand expertise, including but not limited to:

    · Preparing or reviewing pre-procurement packages.

    · Actively participating in the development and management of acquisition plans.

    · Conducting thorough research and preparation of supporting documentation.

    · Providing high-quality recommendations to the Contracting Officer.

    · Resolving issues, validating data, and ensuring the successful execution of actions required for effective advertisement, solicitation, construction, award, administration, and closeout of Government contracts or task/delivery orders.

    Required:

    · Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting and developing government procurements in acquisitions, which may include operational contracting experience in service, construction, supplies, and/or Architect and Engineering.

    · Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and work effectively in a team environment to support project operations and deliver high-quality work.

    · Demonstrated basic knowledge of business and industry practices, sources of supply, cost factors, and requirements characteristics.

    · Proficiency in using the PRISM Integrated Acquisition System or similar contract writing programs is highly desired.

    · Proficient in using automated systems and software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and teleconference applications.

    · Ability to execute acquisitions within prescribed procurement acquisition lead times (PALT), unless extended by the Contracting Officer.

    Desired:

    · Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution

    · Experience with contract writing programs such as PRISM or Integrated Acquisition System
