    Job Summary

    We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian to join the team at our successful clinic. You will primarily diagnose and treat dogs and cats. Daily responsibilities will include performing consultations, dental surgeries and medical progress exams. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, we’d like to meet you.

    Focused on quality of care and client education/communication, this “boutique” referral general dental practice draws clients from much of the state, central Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. We have an established network of referral general practices and loyal clients. This is currently a two doctor practice, with plenty of opportunity for growth. It is well equipped with the equipment and facilities of a modern dental veterinary practice with a dedicated and close-knit support staff, ready to welcome the right fit for our new veterinarian and staff. Sited in a privately owned building on a well-traveled and easily accessed road in Bolton CT.     Responsibilities

    Provide full physical examinations and thorough oral examinations

    Diagnose generalized and oral diseases and recommend treatment

    Perform dental surgeries, routine and complicated extractions and other procedures as training progresses

    Prescribe medication

    Advise pet owners on preventative oral healthcare and pet well-being

    Detailed medical and dental record keeping

    Demonstrates initiative and mental flexibility

    General and Business skills

    Maintains a positive attitude

    Being a role model and leader to the staff

    Gets along well with staff members and other doctors

    Takes responsibility for all aspects of the job

    Demonstrates a gentle and caring approach toward all patients and clients

    Qualifications

    Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree

    2 to 5 years of experience and independence in general medicine and surgery

    Keen interest in dentistry and basic ability to perform surgical extractions

    Knowledge of medical equipment and anesthesia procedures

    Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts in simple terms

    Problem-solving skills

    Significant advanced training will be provided in house and through well-established dental training CE programs to aid the aspiring general dental practitioner development.
