About the Role:

Freckles and Friends Pet Clinic in Long Beach, CA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our caring team! Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and treatments

Restrain and handle animals safely and compassionately during appointments

Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, sanitary clinical environment

Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian

Collect and process laboratory samples including blood draws, urinalysis, and cultures

Communicate with pet owners regarding care instructions, appointments, and follow-ups

Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories in practice management software

Requirements:

Prior experience as a veterinary assistant, kennel technician, or in an animal care setting preferred

Genuine love for animals and ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments

Strong communication skills and a client-friendly, compassionate demeanor

Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and multitask effectively

Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology, common medications, and clinical procedures

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary assistant certification a plus
