We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to care for animals and support Veterinarians at Abrams Royal Animal Clinic. We are located in Lake Highlands and well established with a real connection to our community for over 40 years!
Our ideal Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist must have exceptional customer service and team oriented. Applicant would be self-motivated, have great communication skills, be computer savvy, detail oriented and able to handle high-stress situations. You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in clients and their pets with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Answer phone calls, schedule anesthesia appointments, and manage the appointment calendar
- Collect and update patient information, including medical history
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various procedures and treatments
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, waiting room, and exam room
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with animal physiology and behavior
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion, including restraint when necessary
- Proficiency in using computer systems for managing records and invoicing
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques for maintaining cleanliness in the clinic
- Understanding of laboratory procedures and ability to assist with sample collection
