Join our dedicated team at Hudspeth Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant, where your passion for animal care will shine! In this exciting role, you’ll support our veterinarians and ensure our furry patients receive the best care possible in a friendly and compassionate environment.
Qualified Candidates can become Certificated in Practical Veterinary Nursing
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas.
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
Administer medications and vaccinations as directed.
Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostics.
Educate pet owners on proper care and health maintenance.
Maintain accurate medical records and inventory management.
Provide exceptional customer service to pet owners and their pets.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; veterinary assistant certification preferred.
Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a MUST.
Strong communication skills and a passion for animal welfare.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is advantageous.
Must be able to lift and handle animals of various sizes.
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Compassionate demeanor and strong team collaboration skills.
