    Job Summary

    We are seeking experienced Veterinarian Technician Assistants (VTAs) to join our small animal exclusive veterinary clinic. We are a private, independently-owned, progressive veterinary practice located in New Prague, Minnesota. We are hiring both part-time and full-time experienced VTAs to work with our trained team! VTAs will tag team with our Certified Technicians and assist in all aspects of their work including helping run appointments, performing blood draws and nail trims, assisting with digital x-rays, running bloodwork and UAs in our Heska lab, cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments, helping hold patients for treatments, following disinfection protocols to clean exam rooms, treatment areas and surgery, and coordinating animal care follow-up scheduling per our protocols in the Avimark practice software. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients.     Responsibilities

    Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic

    Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history

    Take vital signs and acquire blood samples

    Assist with monitoring animals after surgery and preparing take-home instructions and medications

    Adeptly perform procedures including blood draws, nail trims, catheterization, digital radiographs

    Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients

    Keep accurate patient records

    Qualifications

    At least 2 years of previous experience as a Veterinary Technician Assistant is required

    Knowledge of animal care and handling

    Team player with excellent communication skills

    Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment

    Patience, compassion, and a love for animals

    Fear-free training and experience is desired
