Wave Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our small animal (dogs and cats only) practice in Castroville, California. We are a privately owned hospital that values teamwork, professionalism, and high-quality patient care.

About Our Practice

We are a modern canine and feline hospital equipped to support efficient, high-quality medicine, including:

Ultrasound

Digital radiography including Dental

Modern anesthetic and monitoring equipment

Fully digital medical records

Hospital hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering a consistent and reliable schedule.

Position Overview

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on patient care and working closely with veterinarians in a collaborative clinical environment. Responsibilities may include:

Assisting veterinarians with examinations and procedures for dogs and cats

Patient handling and restraint

Preparing patients for surgery and monitoring anesthesia

Dental cleanings

Collecting and processing laboratory samples

Taking radiographs

Maintaining treatment, surgery, and hospitalization areas

Client education and communication

General hospital support duties

Both Veterinary Assistants and Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT/LVT/CVT) are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities will be assigned based on experience, training, and licensure.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a small animal veterinary setting preferred

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Compassionate approach to canine and feline patient care

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment

Technician licensure is a plus but not required for assistant roles
