Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Technician Assistants to join our compassionate veterinary team. We are a privately owned small animal specialty (canine/feline) clinic that just opened April 2026. We are a fully equipped hospital with oxygen chamber, high flow oxygen therapy, full surgical suite/monitors, endoscopy, with ultrasound and ECHO capabilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic animal healthcare environment with specialists, providing essential support in patient care, clinic operations, and animal management. The ideal candidate will have prior veterinary clinic experience, animal handling skills, and a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures. This position is vital for ensuring high-quality pet care and supporting veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical services.
Responsibilities (will vary depending on skills)
Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, bathing, and general care for hospitalized animals
Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
Administer medications accurately following veterinary instructions
Monitor animal vital signs and observe for any signs of distress or illness
Maintain accurate medical records
Support emergency critical care procedures as needed including animal catheterization (peripheral and central line), naso-gastric tube placement/maintenance and maintaining chest and abdominal drains
Anesthesia monitoring
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment using aseptic techniques
Support laboratory procedures such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing
Assist with client communications during intake, hospitalization and discharging from the hospital
Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with compassion and attention to detail
Qualifications
18+ years of age
Highschool diploma or GED
3+ years of veterinary experience
LVT and ER/specialty experience is preferred
Be able to lift 40lbs
