    About Us

    Trail Pet Hospital is a growing small animal practice dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care with compassion and integrity. We are seeking a dependable, motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team.

    Responsibilities

    Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures

    Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats

    Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and perform patient assessments

    Draw blood from standard venous access points

    Place IV catheters and administer prescribed medications, vaccines, and treatments

    Run in-house laboratory tests and prepare samples for outside laboratories

    Perform radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging

    Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients

    Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in condition

    Input medical notes, treatments, and charges into the practice management system

    Educate clients on medications, preventive care, nutrition, and discharge instructions

    Maintain accurate medical records

    Keep the hospital clean, organized, and stocked

    Cross-train in basic client service responsibilities

    Perform additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience required

    Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, radiology, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring preferred

    Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques

    Excellent communication and customer service skills

    Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and veterinary software

    Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

    Team-oriented with strong attention to detail

    Working Conditions

    Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the workday

    Ability to stand for extended periods of time

    Flexible schedule, including closing shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

    Reliable attendance and punctuality required
