    Job Description

    The Regional Sales Manager will oversee Vetoquinol's sales efforts in the Western Region, including California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.  The selected candidate will be required to reside in the Western Region.

    The Regional Sales Manager leads their sales team to develop an assigned territory and to meet desired sales objectives and goals. The Regional Sales Manager ensures their team represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers while ensuring the customer’s needs and expectations are completely met by the company.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Sales Leadership

    • Coaches their assigned staff in to meet regional goals and objectives
    • Perform semi-annual reviews of accounts for each account manager assigned to their region
    • Identifies growth opportunities within existing and target accounts.
    • Properly utilizes computer systems to leverage business intelligence into the sales process
    • Shadows account managers regularly to assess the sales techniques and capabilities of their staff, and to provide coaching for improvement.
    • Supports and executes Vetoquinol’s sales and marketing activities.
    • Engages in the process of forecasting, establishing, and achieving regional sales and profitability budgets for their assigned regions.

    Communication

    • Properly communicates internally and externally, including prompt reviews and replies to email, voice mail, and phone calls
    • Relays all competitive information to company management
    • Meet all required deadlines and proper follow-up and follow through on requests assigned or asked of the Regional Sales Manager.

    Team Management

    • Conducts all recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating department staff members.
    • Continuously improves the department’s function, including the development of staff by providing effective coaching and feedback as well as appropriate delegation to staff members.

    General/Administrative

    • Supports the company vision and mission, and demonstrates the corporate core values in all professional activities.
    • Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules, and regulations.
    • Compiles and maintains all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
    • Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals.
    • All other duties as requested by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Formal Education and Certification

    • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Minimum of 5-7 years of business-to-business sales management experience
    • Knowledge of the animal health industry is highly preferable
    • Computer skills and proficiency

    • Exceptional coaching and management skills
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
    • Highly developed interpersonal skills, possessing an ability to work with a diverse population
    • Proven skills in negotiation
    • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
