    Position Overview

    On behalf of one of our valued clients, a $127M NPR health system in the Midwest, Warbird is seeking a full-time Vice President of Behavioral Healthcare. The system includes a 114-bed hospital, twelve clinics, and a hospice care facility.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for operational management of the health system’s outpatient behavioral health programs which include Medication Services, Psychotherapy Services, Crisis Office, Healthcare Home, and Case Management Services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee and promote behavioral healthcare for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within the organization and the community.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
    • Responsible for overall fiscal management of departments, including budgets and monthly monitoring of financial activity.
    • Adhere to departmental and organizational customer service standards.
    • Participate as a member of various ad-hoc committees and the quality team.
    • Responsible for CARF, the state’s department of mental health, and Joint Commission accreditation activity.
    • Coordinate building activity with the facilities director and the clinic directors.
    • Coordinate telemedicine activity.
    • Ensure strong provider relations with doctors, mid-levels, social workers, and case management teams, including establishing contracts, provider retention, and monitoring productivity.
    • Manage and resolve issues with patients, coworkers, and providers.
    • Review and analyze patient feedback and develop coworker training and response.
    • Management of coworker goals, performance, engagement & retention, communication, and productivity.
    • Site Administrator for National Health Service Corps federal education reimbursement program.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or relevant major.
    • Behavioral health experience that includes at least 3 years of leadership experience as a Senior Director or Vice President.
    • Preferred: Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant behavioral health experience, including at least 3 years of leadership experience as a Senior Director or Vice President.
