Job Description
The Vice President, Commercial Performance will focus on driving hotel sales, marketing and revenue management performance for the hotels. The role will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to a regional cluster of hotels to help shape their business and sales & marketing strategy to deliver on the positioning, revenue and financial targets for the properties. The role will work closely with senior leadership, the field (Regional VP’s, General Managers and the local/area sales and marketing teams), the Home Office discipline specialists in finance, portfolio management, sales, marketing communications, e-commerce, revenue management, operations as well as be a key point of contact for hotel ownership groups in achieving the properties revenue goals.
The individual, who reports to the SVP Sales & Marketing, needs to be a strong influential leader with asset management and hotel experience, very strong business acumen, a solid understanding and appreciation of the high-end, luxury consumer market, be well versed in positioning as well as sales and marketing with a proven track record of delivering financial results. The individual will like to work in a very fast-paced, results-oriented, entrepreneurial environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the key senior Home Office S&M lead to engage with and influence ownership groups
Inspire, develop and guide field teams to drive sales and marketing innovation and performance excellence across their portfolio of hotels and residential properties.
Key stakeholder in strategically positioning each property in a unique manner to attract very high-end luxury travelers and the travel industry to increase market share.
Lead and influence hotels in the development and implementation of effective business and sales & marketing plans to meet topline and bottom line financial goals and drive RevPAR Index growth vs competitive set.
Collaborate with home office discipline experts in finance, portfolio management, operations, sales, ecommerce, public relations, partnerships and experiences.
Qualifications
8+ years in asset management and the hotel industry. Experience as a general manager and/or asset manager with exposure to sales & marketing over multiple hotels and demonstrated success with P&L responsibility, including time in experientially driven high-end hotels.
Strong relationship-builder with success in influencing ownership groups and delivering results.
Is driven, innovative and a strong team-player. Has a curious mind, is a strong multi-tasker who finds opportunities where others find problems. Someone who “rolls-up their sleeves” to get it done and inspires others with their vision and acumen
Wants to be a leader in an innovative, fast-paced organization that has high standards of excellence.
Has a strong understanding of the style, design and nuance of luxury that is required to create a distinctive brand for each property.
Experience with residential would be a plus as would having worked on start-ups and brand launches.
The Vice President, Commercial Performance role offers a base salary range of $250-285k plus an annual bonus as well as comprehensive medical, dental, vision and voluntary benefits, 401k employer match, employer paid life insurance and an employee assistance program and a team member hotel stay program.
