    Job Description

    ** Role Summary:**

    This is a dynamic and highly visible opportunity for a globally minded human resources leader to provide overall strategic human resources support to the Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E) Consumer Products team. The Vice President, Human Resources will partner closely with senior leaders across Consumer Products to offer guidance on matters such as organizational design, employee relations, compensation planning, and succession planning. This position is also responsible for developing and delivering exciting talent and internal mobility initiatives that ensure Consumer Products team members succeed at every stage of their professional development at NBCUniversal, and to create opportunities and experiences that enhance skills and growth of this team member population. This position reports into the SVP, HR for UP&E and leads a team of HR business partners in Los Angeles and London, and through the HR organization’s matrix, 11 other countries around the world.

    The mission of Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E) is to extend the characters and stories of NBCUniversal by bringing them to life in immersive retail and theme park experiences, as well as in product categories such as toys, collectables, books, apparel, lifestyle categories, video games, digital initiatives and more. A division of Universal Destinations and Experiences (UDX), UP&E activates the business through world-class licensee partnerships or through direct operations across its expansive theme park destinations, e-commerce platforms, live-entertainment venues, and retailer relationships around the world.

    ** Responsibilities:**

    • Work closely with the SVP, HR to create and foster a community across the global Consumer Products team; build strong relationships with UP&E executives, as well as other HR team members, developing an in-depth knowledge of the HR talent across Consumer Products, their unique skills, as well as function-wide trends and challenges.
    • Drive the growth and development of the Consumer Products HR team. Coach and mentor to ensure a culture of learning and engagement. Navigate within a matrixed environment where influence and guidance is often more significant than reporting lines.
    • Provide high-touch, proactive leadership to clients in the areas of employee relations, total rewards, compensation, organization design, manager coaching, team member development, succession planning, and performance management.
    • Act as an advocate for talent by developing, managing, and promoting internal mobility strategies with a focus on building a robust internal pipeline, identifying common development opportunities, and ensuring the selection and promotion of the best talent in the industry.
    • Closely partner with the International HR leadership in APAC, EMEA, and LATAM to share best practices, ensure consistency within regions/countries, discuss talent mobility, and expand training and development opportunities.
    • Lead strategic initiatives and process improvements to address organizational effectiveness, retention, and development needs.
    • Provide executive coaching to leaders offering feedback and guidance on team member and organizational matters.
    • Work with leaders and team members to establish and maintain an inclusive, positive and motivating work environment.

    • Partner with UDX and NBCU HR leaders to participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned to represent an HR business partner perspective.
    • Collaborate closely with UDX and NBCU Corporate teams (i.e. HR Operations, Learning & Development, HR Connection, Compensation, and Legal) to execute on responsibilities.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Basic Requirements:**

    • Graduate degree in Human Resources, MBA, or related field and/or SPHR/SHRM certification preferred
    • 15+ years of professional HR experience, including prior experience leading a team of HR professionals
    • Experience supporting a global business with operations in multiple countries with varying sizes of team member populations
    • Experience in an organization going through tremendous transformation and/or growth
    • Willing to travel (domestic and internationally) 10-20% as necessary
    • Dynamic and globally literate leader with the ability to collaborate and influence leaders, team members, and partners

    • A global mindset and understanding of international talent dynamics, employment laws, and NBCU’s policies
    • Strong diplomacy and ability to work across a matrixed/decentralized HR function with UDX and the broader NBCU communities

    • Demonstrated ability to translate ‘big picture’ business strategy into an executable HR plan. Exceptional business partnering skills.
    • Skilled in facilitation, change management, and conflict resolution.
    • Ability to maintain an upbeat, positive environment that inspires a sense of urgency, constant innovation, teamwork, and strong commitment to individual and team accountability.
    • Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including employment and labor laws, employee relations, management & leadership development, performance management, organizational design and compensation philosophies

    • Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high quality services in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and counsel both team members and management
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills

    Additional Requirements:

    • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
