    Job Description

    The Vice President, Payroll leads the Company's day-to-day payroll operations function. Reporting to the Senior Vice President Accounting Operations, this role drives process execution to ensure effective and efficient service delivery through timely and accurate payments, distributions, and withholdings. The Vice President, Payroll ensures the payroll operations function supports compliance with local payroll regulations and collective bargaining agreements. This position also has accountability for accurate data and metrics for reporting, auditing, and monitoring purposes.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage execution of SpinCo's Payroll utilizing SAP and supporting systems (e.g., TimeKeeper.)
    • Manage the preparation and dissemination of weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll for union and non-union employees.
    • Ensure payroll processing of new hires, temporary workers, and terminations are accurate and timely.
    • Communicate actively with Operations, HR, and Finance to review cross-departmental impacts of the payroll process and financial posting.
    • Ensure all applicable federal, state, and local taxes, garnishments, employee benefit contributions, union dues etc. are properly withheld.
    • Serve as liaison with other departments in the resolution of payroll issues.
    • Partner with HR and benefits in aligning and implementing ongoing process improvement and best practices for payroll and benefits.
    • Manage and act as subject matter expert for all payroll-related systems.
    • Perform payroll systems monitoring and auditing as required.
    • Support management of mapping and automatic feed of payroll general ledger accounts such as taxes, child support, levies, garnishments, employee benefits contributions, etc.
    • Lead Team in providing quality service to the department and organization.
    • Ensure that the operational activities and indicators of the team meet the expectations of the department and organizational strategic initiatives.
    • Work with Operations, HR, and Finance teams in the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of special projects.
    • Promote adequacy of staffing and services for identified and assigned populations.
    • Manage direct reports of staff within the department to accomplish results through onboarding, training, development, performance management, and recognition.
    • Facilitate technology resources and tools to engage the team to work efficiently and accurately.
    • Coach and mentor staff; assist in difficult situations when needed.
    • Identify opportunities to standardize and/or create efficiencies in the delivery of services.
    • Promote collaboration with all disciplines and improve communication and collaborative processes.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field and 12 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience managing payroll teams within large multi-state companies, including responsibility for and in-depth functional knowledge of payroll, time keeping systems, internal/external audits, issue resolution, garnishments, and research of payroll and wage/hour requirements.
    • Experience with SAP Payroll or equivalent ERP-based payroll systems.
    • Minimum 10 years of management experience with demonstrated ability to develop and mentor staff at varying levels.
    • Experience in a specific area of Entertainment Payroll and Union/Guild Payrolls.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.
