    Job Description

    The Vice President of Sports Security for Versant, based in Stamford, CT, leads and manages all safety, security, and risk management operations for the company’s sports production, events, talent, facilities, and personnel. This includes planning, executing, and overseeing security protocols and operations for major sporting events across the United States and abroad. The role ensures physical security, executive protection, crisis response, vendor oversight, law enforcement coordination, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive security strategy for Versant's sports productions and events.
    • Lead risk assessment and threat analysis for venues, lodging, and transportation.
    • Plan and execute security operations for high‑profile sports events.
    • Manage executive protection for talent and leadership.
    • Coordinate with law enforcement, public safety, and venue security.
    • Oversee internal and contracted security staff, ensuring training and compliance.
    • Direct investigations into incidents and manage crisis response.
    • Work closely with legal, HR, EHS, risk management, and production teams.
    • Manage security budgets, procurement, and vendor contracts.
    • Maintain on‑call availability and readiness for emergencies.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • 15+ years of experience in security leadership, ideally in law enforcement, military, or event security.
    • Experience managing security for large‑scale live sports events.
    • Proven collaboration with law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
    • Experience in executive/talent protection.
    • Strong knowledge of security risk assessment, crisis management, and venue security.
    • Experience leading large teams and managing vendors.
    • Ability to manage large budgets and contracts.
    • Willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours.
    • High integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport and driver’s license.
    • Compliance with LEOSA.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Prior law enforcement, military, or intelligence background.
    • Experience in media, broadcast, or sports production industries.
    • Advanced degree or security certifications (CPP, PSP, etc.).
    • Experience managing global or cross‑jurisdictional events.

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
