    Job Description

    NBCUniversal is seeking a Vice President of Strategic Communications to lead executive communications, strategic messaging and internal and external speaking engagements for senior leaders of the NBCUniversal Media Group, the division responsible for the business strategy, operations and platforms for NBC, Bravo and Peacock, as well as key divisions, including International Networks, NBC Sports, Platform Distribution & Partnerships, Advertising Sales & Partnerships, Decision Sciences and Global Streaming. Reporting into the Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications, this VP will serve as a strategic communications expert and trusted advisor to the Media Group Chairman and senior leadership team, working together to effectively communicate the Media Group narrative and vision with internal and external audiences.

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • External Speaking Engagements and Thought Leadership: Develop and manage executive speaking engagements that elevate leaders’ presence in the industry, including panels, conferences, media events, power lists, and thought leadership forums.
    • Internal Speaking Engagements: Own messaging and content creation for Chairman and senior leaders’ participation at internal events, such as all-hands meetings, town halls, leadership roundtables and employee Q&A sessions.
    • Strategic Messaging: Serve as the go-to authority on the Media Group Chairman’s voice and resource on C-suite level messaging. Collaborate with communications, HR and business leaders on messaging and content that drives executive visibility internally and externally, (e.g., talking points, speeches, presentations, blog posts, social media posts).
    • Crisis Management & Media Relations: Provide strategic counsel on sensitive communications matters, ensuring executives are prepared for high-stakes engagements, and support media relations efforts as needed to amplify executive visibility.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of experience in executive communications, corporate communications, public relations or related competency.
    • Proven track record of supporting and advising senior executives and leadership teams, managing high-profile executive engagements and crafting impactful messaging.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the media, entertainment, and technology landscape.
    • Strong relationships with conference/event organizers and media.
    • Experience in crisis communications and reputation management.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Exceptional speechwriting and storytelling skills, with a strong grasp of tone, audience and channel.
    • Strategic thinker with excellent project management skills and experience working within a fast-paced matrixed corporate environment.
    • Ability to collaborate across teams and demonstrates professional maturity and sound judgment, working as a trusted cross-functional lead and mentoring other team members.

    Additional Requirements:

    • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
