    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly strategic, technically fluent, and collaborative leader to drive FBIN’s Technology Alliances, Standards Engagement, and IoT Platform Partnerships across our Security, Water, and Outdoors businesses. This leader will represent Fortune Brands Innovation (FBIN) at the highest levels of industry alliances—including CSA (Matter), Thread, and Z-Wave—and lead strategic engagement with the Big 4 IoT platforms (Amazon, Google, Apple, Samsung).

    They will be responsible for advocating FBIN’s interests externally while ensuring constant internal alignment with product, engineering, legal, and executive teams. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, technical depth, and relationship management to influence the future of smart home connectivity.

    Core Responsibilities

    Strategic Alliance Leadership

    - Represent FBIN on the Board of Directors and Executive Committees for CSA/Matter, Thread, and Z-Wave.
    - Participate in and influence working groups, technical specifications, and certification initiatives.
    - Act as FBIN’s voice in standards discussions—while continuously circling back with internal stakeholders to align positions, share insights, and drive roadmap clarity.
    - Identify and pursue new business development opportunities that emerge through alliance engagement.

    IoT Platform & Partner Engagement

    Lead senior-level integration and partnership discussions with Amazon Alexa, Google Nest, Apple HomeKit, and Samsung SmartThings.
    Scope and prioritize technical and commercial opportunities, aligning ecosystem roadmaps with FBIN’s business objectives.
    Maintain strong external relationships while coordinating internally to ensure technical readiness and commercial support.

    Product & Ecosystem Enablement

    Champion FBIN products as the gold standard for:
    Ease of integration
    System performance
    Engineering and business support
    Serve as the subject matter expert on integration and certification requirements.
    Provide proactive input into device classes, data models, and interoperability standards that benefit FBIN’s product development.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    10+ years in IoT, smart home, or connected product ecosystems
    Deep understanding of Matter, Thread, Z-Wave, and related smart home protocols
    Proven success managing strategic alliances and industry relationships at the executive and working group levels
    Experience in embedded systems, connectivity standards, and device certification
    Strong executive presence and ability to navigate technical, product, and business teams with influence
    Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in matrixed environments, ensuring alignment between external engagements and internal execution

    Additional Information:

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $200,000 USD - $352,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
