    Position Overview

    The Vice President of Water Environment will assume a crucial leadership role within George Butler Associates , spearheading our engineering division's initiatives. This position entails the strategic oversight of diverse water environment projects, particularly those concerning water resource management. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, proficient in project management and adept at nurturing client relationships, all while guiding a team of dedicated professionals.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Formulate and execute comprehensive strategic plans aimed at enhancing the suite of water environment services provided by our firm.
    • Lead, inspire, and manage a talented team of engineers and project managers, cultivating a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages professional growth.
    • Oversee the complete lifecycle of engineering projects, from initial conceptual design through to successful completion, ensuring that all projects meet rigorous quality standards, budget constraints, and deadlines.
    • Establish and maintain robust relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, drive business development and identify new project opportunities.
    • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the fields of water resources, ensuring that the firm remains competitive and at the forefront of industry developments.
    • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulations, engineering standards, and best practices that govern environmental stewardship and project execution.
    • Develop and deliver compelling project proposals, reports, and presentations to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating project goals and value.
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers and staff, fostering their professional development and encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree Architecture, Engineering, Business or related field from accredited program, or equivalent experience.
    • 15+ years of combined A/E industry and leadership experience.
    • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic growth plans and drive revenue.
    • Strong leadership, business development, and financial management skills.
    • Successfully completion of ACEC Pathways equivalent program leadership certification/course work.

    Technical Skills and Abilities

    • Deep understanding of A/E trends, emerging technologies, and competitive positioning.
    • Ability to develop and implement long-term business growth strategies.
    • Experience in revenue forecasting, P&L management, budgeting, and cost control.
    • Knowledge of process optimization, risk management, and project delivery models.
    • Strong skills in contract negotiation, procurement strategies, and business agreements.
    • Understanding of digital transformation, automation, and integration of A/E technology solutions.
