    Job Description

    The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for generating new revenue through strategic relationship development and market capture.

    This is a producer role.

    The ideal candidate brings an active network of brokers, developers, architects, owner representatives, and private-sector decision makers in Southern California.

    This role is measured by signed contracts and negotiated opportunities — not by meetings or marketing activity.

    Key Responsibilities

    Market Development

    • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for Healthcare and Industrial verticals

    • Identify and cultivate relationships with:

      • Healthcare architects

      • Medical office brokers

      • Industrial leasing brokers

      • Asset managers

      • Developers and private owners

    • Position Prime Design+Build as a preferred negotiated partner

    Opportunity Capture

    • Generate qualified project leads aligned with target markets

    • Secure invitations to negotiated or limited-bid projects

    • Maintain visibility into upcoming projects 3–12 months out

    • Track opportunities through contract execution

    Relationship Leadership

    • Conduct regular in-person meetings with industry stakeholders

    • Establish long-term strategic accounts

    • Represent the company at industry events and associations

    Internal Collaboration

    • Partner with Preconstruction to support fast-turn budgets

    • Coordinate with Operations to ensure proper handoff

    • Provide pipeline forecasts and market intelligence

    What Success Looks Like

    Within 90 Days:

    • Active pipeline of qualified healthcare and industrial opportunities

    • Documented broker and architect relationships

    • Clear revenue forecast

    Within 12 Months:

    • Significant negotiated revenue contribution

    • Established strategic accounts

    • Repeat client engagements

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years of business development experience in commercial construction

    • Proven track record generating negotiated private work

    • Strong existing relationships in Southern California

    • Experience in Healthcare or Industrial construction preferred

    • Strong executive presence and communication skills

    • Self-directed, accountable, and revenue-focused

    Compensation
