Summary:
The VP of Commercial Sales at WalkerHughes Insurance is responsible for leading commercial producers, driving pipeline discipline, enforcing sales cadence, and optimizing producer performance. This role will help develop and execute strategic sales plans in partnership with senior leadership. This role is designed for a high-caliber commercial sales leader who initially assumes full responsibility for producer execution, with opportunity for future expansion based on performance and organizational growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of commercial insurance producers across varying levels of experience.
- Help develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Monitor individual producer performance metrics, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Train and onboard new sales team members with a primary focus on sales techniques, methodology, and systems.
- Partner with the central risk placement team align sales goals with carrier strategies and targeted production opportunities.
- Establish and enforce consistent pipeline standards including opportunity qualification, stage definitions, and activity expectations.
- Enforce consistent pipeline reporting and opportunity progression across all commercial producers.
- Establish and enforce consistent weekly and monthly producer sales cadence.
- Participate directly in producer recruiting, interviewing, and selection.
- Own producer onboarding framework including 30-60-90-day expectations and development benchmarks.
- Establish producer performance scorecards and manage underperformance through documented improvement plans.
- Make recommendations regarding producer retention, termination, and compensation adjustments.
- Drive producer development, niche specialization, and long-term growth progression.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Insurance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial lines insurance sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Prior experience leading a sales division, business unit, or multi-producer team with full performance accountability strongly preferred.
