    This is a senior construction leadership mandate for an experienced executive to own the full project delivery function of a commercial landscape construction platform. The organization executes multi-million-dollar hardscape and softscape projects across commercial, municipal, and mixed-use developments in a competitive Pacific Northwest market where GC relationships and estimating precision drive win rate.

    The incoming VP of Construction will command the preconstruction, estimating, and field execution functions — owning portfolio margin, schedule performance, and GC relationship depth. This is a role for a construction heavyweight who wins competitive bids, protects job-cost margin, and builds the field leadership infrastructure to scale without losing execution quality.

    KEY LEADERSHIP MANDATES

    • Portfolio P&L Ownership: Own the construction P&L with direct accountability for revenue, job-cost margin, and EBITDA across the full project portfolio.

    • Preconstruction & Estimating: Direct the estimating function to ensure bid accuracy, scope discipline, and strategic value engineering that wins work without eroding margin.

    • GC Relationship Management: Build and manage preferred partner relationships with Tier-1 general contractors, developers, and owners reps to drive bid access and repeat work.

    • Field Execution Leadership: Own project delivery from mobilization through closeout — enforcing schedule adherence, cost-to-complete discipline, and quality standards across all active projects.

    • Change Order Management: Institutionalize proactive change order identification, documentation, and negotiation to protect margin on complex, scope-evolving projects.

    • Labor & Subcontractor Management: Optimize the deployment of large field crews and specialty subcontractors across simultaneous projects in a high-demand labor market.

    • Safety & Risk Management: Enforce safety protocols and quality control standards that minimize liability, warranty exposure, and project risk.

    • Project Leadership Development: Recruit and develop a high-performing team of project managers and superintendents capable of executing independently on complex builds.

    The successful candidate is a seasoned construction executive with a track record of managing multi-million-dollar commercial landscape, civil, or site-work portfolios. You have owned estimating and field execution, managed Tier-1 GC relationships, and delivered complex projects on margin in competitive bid environments.
