    About the Role:
    We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead the development, scaling, and market launch of complex electro-mechanical systems.

    This is a strategic leadership role requiring a balance of technical acumen, team-building ability, and operational execution. The candidate brings deep systems-level engineering knowledge, having developed products multi-disciplinary products involving mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering. This candidate has experience in both large organizations and startup environments and has managed the full product life cycle, taking technology from proof of concept to contract manufacturing at scale.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead all engineering functions across R&D, prototyping, systems development, and production readiness.
    • Drive the transition of product development into scalable manufacturing, including working with contract manufacturers.
    • Build and lead cross-functional engineering teams across multiple technical disciplines.
    • Implement best practices in design, product lifecycle management, and engineering documentation.
    • Collaborate with product, operations, and executive leadership to align engineering goals with business objectives.
    • Apply sound project management methodologies to deliver on milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Create a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.

    Qualifications:

    • 15+ years of experience in mechanical systems engineering or related fields.
    • Proven success in bringing complex products to market in regulated or high-performance environments (e.g., robotics, med tech, 3D printing, clean energy).
    • Strong background in product development, systems integration, and scaling to contract manufacturing.
    • Experience in both large organizations and early-stage/startup companies.
    • Demonstrated leadership in building and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
    • Excellent communication and executive presence with the ability to influence at all levels.
    • Advanced (Master's or above) degree in Engineering; Bachelor's degree with substantial experience and track record may be considered.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Expertise in clean energy or hydropower systems
    • Proficiency in hardware/software integration environments
    • Knowledge of scalable, modular design principles
