Job Purpose:
The Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role within Clean the World Global, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategic financial planning of the organization. This position requires a highly skilled individual with a comprehensive understanding of financial management principles, regulatory compliance, and strategic business acumen. The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the President and collaborate closely with other executive team members to drive financial performance and support organizational objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
- Advise the executive team on financial planning, forecasting, and risk management to inform decision-making processes.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and legal requirements, maintaining the organization’s commitment to ethical financial practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members to enhance professional growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports that provide actionable insights to support strategic initiatives.
- Oversee cash flow management and investment strategies to ensure optimal use of resources.
- Lead efforts to secure funding and manage capital structure to support growth initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational financial strategy, aligning financial goals with long-term business objectives.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling to support data-driven decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, IRS regulations, and financial reporting standards; familiarity with international financial regulations is a plus.
- Experience managing internal controls, external audits, and enterprise risk management frameworks.
- Strong experience with financial systems (e.g., Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics), and the ability to oversee implementations or improvements.
- Ability to inspire, mentor, and manage finance professionals across multiple levels, including remote or global teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound governance in all financial dealings.
- Solid understanding of operational finance, cost structures, and strategic levers in a mission-driven or nonprofit environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of strategic financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting in a complex organizational environment.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee directors, managers, and operational staff across multiple locations, both domestically and internationally.
- Develop leadership pipelines and succession plans for operational teams.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Work in an office and warehouse environment with occasional site visits to satellite locations.
