Vice President of Finance

Company Overview
One of our portfolio companies, Practical Software Solutions, a 30-year-old ERP and SaaS provider, is hiring a VP of Finance to support its next growth phase. This is an opportunity to step in as the CEO's right hand, leading FP&A, strengthening financial operations, and driving strategic planning across the business.
Practical Software Solutions is a privately held ERP and SaaS solutions provider serving a range of industries, including accounting, manufacturing, construction, real estate, and professional services. Since our founding in 1993, we've built a reputation for operational excellence, strong client relationships, and long-term delivery partnerships. As we continue to scale, we are creating a new executive finance role to support our evolving business and leadership structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, modeling, and executive reporting
- Own monthly financial rhythm and reporting, including cash flow management, margin analysis, and board-level materials
- Ensure timely, accurate financial closes in collaboration with the controller/bookkeeper
- Develop and lead operational cadence for the business: scorecards, KPIs, dashboards, and accountability systems
- Partner directly with the CEO on strategic planning, resourcing, pricing, and growth initiatives
- Act as a liaison across departments to ensure aligned execution across sales, delivery, and support
- Support board and investor communications; provide financial insights aligned with private equity governance
- Introduce scalable financial and operational processes to support growth while maintaining agility
- Lead and mentor a small finance team
- Identify and execute on opportunities to improve reporting, margins, pricing discipline, and operational effectiveness
Required Qualifications
- 7 -10+ years of progressive finance experience
- Demonstrated experience owning FP&A and financial operations in a scaling company
- Strong command of subscription models, cash flow, EBITDA, and financial compliance
- Deep comfort with operational reporting, KPI development, and business performance management
- Experience with cross-functional leadership, particularly bridging sales, services, and support functions
- Exceptional business judgment and communication skills; able to translate financial insights into operational actions
- Experience supporting or interfacing with private equity investors and/or board members
- Strong systems orientation and a data-driven mindset
- Bachelor's degree required; CPA or MBA is a plus but not required

Compensation and Benefits
- $160,000–$175,000, depending on experience
