    The Vice President of Operations is responsible for the success of the total customer experience, including oversight for the overall direction, service, financial performance, and future growth for the business units; provides strategic oversight and management to build and develop operations, processes and procedures in support of long and short range planning and strategic direction; directs multiple-site operations through a team of functional managers and supervisors to implement strategic initiatives and financial performance objectives.

    What you’ll do as a Vice President of Operations
    • Builds, develops and manages an operations leadership team capable of carrying out operational strategies while ensuring practices are in compliance with all relevant company values and goals
    • Develops new relationships and continually maintains and strengthens current relationships/pipeline for strong business retention
    • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives
    • Confers with customers to keep them informed of status of completion and to solicit and resolve inquiries and complaints
    • Coordinates activities of work centers within the region to effect operational efficiency and economy
    • Analyzes division or department budget requests to facilitate prudent spending and allocation of operating budget
    • Collaborates with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and on-time completion reports to deliver continuous improvement and operations efficiency
    • Prepares direction to work center managers outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented
    • Promotes and enforces company safety policies and procedures to be followed by personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
    • Develop and execute Project Management and Construction Operations supporting the organization-wide strategy
    • Ensure execution of all enterprise projects on time and under budget, to our customers’ satisfaction
    • Develop and implement effective construction management strategies and drive profitable growth
    • Develop and implement construction activity to increase productivity and project delivery goals
    • Ensure high levels of performance
    • Ensure customer satisfaction
    • Anticipates business challenges, addresses conflicting priorities, and drives cross functional integration activities
    • Manage subcontracting resources, with accountability for subcontracting compliance and quality of work performed
    • You have an executive presence with which to interact and influence at all levels of the organization
    • Skills and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing to convey complex concepts clearly and logically
    • Critical thinking and analytical skills, including the capacity to identify, assess and prioritize competing interests and needs
    • Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity and rapid change
    • Drive the development of consistent execution of operationally efficient and effective processes
    • Responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements for leaders to make proper decisions
    • Perform any other job duties associated with a senior leadership role as assigned
    • Additional related duties as assigned

    What you’ll need
    • To be 18 years of age or older
    • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
    • 10+ years of experience in utilities, construction, operations management, business development or similar field in a multi-location organization
    • 15 years construction management experience, leading underground, aerial and splicing functions within telecommunications
    • Comprehensive leadership skills encompassing realistic target development, ownership and accountability mindset, key metrics use and results delivery
    • Sophisticated financial ability for insightful operations analysis
    • Ability to seek improvement and create an environment of idea-sharing and creative problem-solving
    • Strong customer service and client management skills and abilities
    • Ability to be approachable and facilitate coaching conversations with employees and managers
    • Ability to mitigate and lead others to overcome challenges
    • Ability to encourage open expression of ideas and opinions
    • Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and multi-task
    • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization and with clients
    • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
    • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness
    • Demonstrates a strong capacity to quickly adapt by learning new skills and unlearning outdated ones
    • 50% of time traveling to locations across the region in pursuit of new business and supporting existing business and employees

    Additional preferred Skills/Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field preferred; MBA a plus

    Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000 / year (D.O.E.)
