    Position Summary

    The Operations Officer plays a key leadership role in overseeing several of the Bank’s core operational and administrative teams. This position is responsible for making sure day-to-day processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with the Bank’s overall goals. This person works closely with other leaders to improve operations, support team development, and ensure the delivery of quality services to both internal teams and external customers.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to enhance operational workflows and contribute to the
    • achievement of the Bank’s strategic objectives.
    • Lead the strategic transition of information security responsibilities in preparation for the establishment of a dedicated
    • Information Security Officer (ISO) role.
    • Collaborate with IT leadership to maintain secure system access controls, manage user roles and permissions, and support
    • periodic access reviews.
    • Serve as an operational point of contact during regulatory exams or audits, coordinating responses and follow-up actions in collaboration with IT and Risk teams.
    • Provide oversight of the Bank’s information security practices, ensuring that operational systems and data are safeguarded in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidance.
    • Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring timely, accurate processing in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
    • Provide leadership and direction to administrative teams, ensuring that systems and services operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with organizational standards.
    • Guide and support departmental teams in areas such as staffing, transaction processing, account reconciliations, and enhancement of internal controls.
    • Identify and address operational inefficiencies, working collaboratively with teams to implement practical and sustainable process improvements.
    • Maintain and update internal policies and procedures on a regular basis to reflect evolving regulations and industry best practices.
    • Support leadership development across departments by providing coaching, training, and constructive performance feedback.
    • Partner across functional areas to ensure the delivery of high-quality banking services that reflect the Bank’s “Better, Faster, Easier – Always” service model.
    • Proactively lead the resolution of operational issues, ensuring the ongoing accuracy and effectiveness of internal control structures.
    • Demonstrate adaptability by assuming additional responsibilities as needed in response to changing business needs and professional growth opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain succession plans for key operational departments to ensure continuity and long-term organizational strength.
    • Assist teams in addressing and remediating audit findings by providing operational guidance and support.
    • Ensure internal control processes are properly designed, documented, and functioning as intended.
    • Responsibilities may be expanded based on demonstrated capability, experience, and evolving organizational needs.

    Required Knowledge and Expertise

    • 10+ years of banking experience with a strong background in deposit and administrative operations.
    • At least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
    • Familiarity with banking laws and operational best practices.
    • Professional certifications such as CRCM and/or CISM are helpful but not required if experience demonstrates strong regulatory knowledge.
    • Willing to travel occasionally to branch locations as needed.

    **Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules, the salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Incentives based on Timberline Team goals may also be offered.
