Vice President of Quality
A privately held manufacturing company is seeking a Vice President of Quality to lead a comprehensive rebuild and modernization of its Quality Management System (QMS). This senior role is responsible for transforming quality from a reactive, inspection-driven function into a proactive, data-driven capability embedded across products, processes, suppliers, and culture.
Reporting to executive leadership, the VP of Quality will act as a strategic change agent, partnering closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, and customers to establish quality as a core competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute an enterprise quality strategy aligned with business objectives
Design, rebuild, and deploy a scalable, sustainable Quality Management System
Lead ISO 140001 and customer-driven certification and compliance efforts
Drive defect reduction, scrap elimination, CAPA, and root cause analysis initiatives
Embed quality upstream in manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain processes
Build and lead supplier and customer quality programs
Establish KPIs, dashboards, and governance routines to drive accountability and results
Build, develop, and lead a high-performing quality organization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical field.
12+ years of progressive quality leadership in metal or industrial manufacturing
Proven success in building or rebuilding a Quality Management System
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 or 140001 and advanced quality methodologies (RCA, CAPA, SPC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Lean/Six Sigma)
Demonstrated hands-on ability to lead enterprise-level systems and cultural change
